This swampy gap is where Rana Plaza used to stand. This garment factory collapsed in 2013 killing 1134 and injuring more than 2000. The day before, inspectors had instructed owners to evacuate the eight storey building after cracks appeared. They didn’t. The factory specialised in cheap high street t shirts. Brands found in the rubble included Primark, H&M and Wallmart. When you pay the same for a t shirt as you do a bottle of coke, someone somewhere is paying the price.
