I’m not big on Christmas. As a non-religious person in an increasingly secular society, I’m almost always glad to see the back of it. As a “holiday” it is particularly stressful, and the spiritual significance has all but been lost in an orgy of consumerism.
One thing I do miss, as we move into January, is the lights. After a month of having the streets and homes lit up, the long, dark, dreary days of January can seem especially bleak.
Roll on spring…
I didn’t even put up a tree or any decorations this year. But I agree, the lights should stay until the dark evenings leave.
I’m glad every thing is back to ‘normal’ again 🙂
